Prince is giving away his new album 20Ten in Europe. A giveaway with the Daily Mirror in the UK on July 10th, also a givaway with Rolling Stone Germany.
Prince will be touring Europe this summer so he is using the album to help push tickets. .
Not a bad idea, and when he did it it the US a coupla years ago, giving the always away at his concerts, he got a hit album to go along with the sold out concerts -though quite how big a hit it is when nobody actually paid for the album is another subject.
It reminds me of when MJ released a single for a buck and had a huge hit. The word was, if it is the price of a cup of coffee, is it really a hit?
The reply now is if it fills stadiums, who cares?
