Worst Song Ever

Yes, here it is. The worst song ever written by any one, ever. I was gonna (and I’m still considering it) write a worst songs ever post but I started with this and ran out of time!!

“Working On A Dream” is like bruce said to himself, “hey, they thought the Rising sucked? Get a load of this. Everything you worried out on your Boss fix, the pushed up anthem, the working man blues, the forced uplift. It is all here and it all sucks. AND WORKING ON A DREAM. Is he insane. For fucksake, can’t we get a break ever when we’re sleeping????

It is a horrendous embarrassment, almost unspeakably bad glop.

It sounds like “Waiting On A Sunny Day” alone much, much worse. If that’s possible.

And here, just to prove my point, is a quote from the worse song ever by this overearnest faker.

Rain pourin’ down, I swing my hammer
My hands are rough from working on a dream
From working on a dream
I’m working on a dream
Though trouble can feel like it’s here to stay
I’m working on a dream
Our love will chase the trouble away
[whistling interlude]
I don’t know what bruce thinks it is but it sure aint lyric.

On an album so bathetic and cringeworthy, so horrendously overdone. The 5 star Rolling Stone album hits its nadir in a song that makes Magic feel like a highlight of Bruce’s entire career.

Or as bruce might put it: whistling Interlude.
