Prince performed a private show in London Tuesday night in support of Autism Rocks at some joint caled Koko, going on stage at 10pm and performing for 120minutes (or more, actually) starting with a three hot “Purple Rain” tracks and somewhere in the middle two “Sign O’ The Times” sure shot and towards the end a classic Parade track and a Michael Jackson masterpiece. This sounds like one of those sets you read about in books.
For somebody so short, Prince has a lot of energy and though his 2010 MSG gig (last time I saw him) found Larry Graham blowing him offstage, and though I am not keen on either of his new albums, it sure hits me as thoughhe could’ve been having an off night.
The Guardian reviewer gave the show 5 stars: “The tight line-up – female trio 3rdeyegirl, a keyboardist and dynamic backing singer Liv Warfield — makes for a lean, hard show with thrilling new funk-rock arrangements.”
So any way, for your listening pleasure, the soon to be lendary Prince set Spotifed…
