Pete Doherty kicked out of Thai rehab facility

Its a sad state of affairs when you are asked to leave a rehab facility for being a bad influence.  That's exactly what NME reported has happened to Pet Doherty.

You would think that after prison stints, and lock ups and the death of Amy Winehouse something would 'click' and allow him to seek help.  This is a great indication of the power of addictions.  I have encountered my fair share of those who were powerless over substance and it is the most gut wrenching affliction imaginable.  As in any mental illness those who don't battle these demons will never 'get it', to us you simply stop and get on with it.  It saddens me when I read of these things.  I just wish medical genius could cure this more than any other illness. I wish there was hope.

The rehab center did what it had to do and it was eloquent in its quote from director of The Cabin in Chiang Mai, Alastair Mordey, saying, 'Pete was discharged today for therapeutic reasons. It is important to maintain the integrity of the treatment programme for the other clients to have a good chance of recovery. Pete understands this and therefore the reasons behind why we have asked him to leave.'

Mordey continued, 'Although our parting with Pete is amicable, we are of course disappointed to see him leave. We hope some of the things he has learnt here will help him in the future and look forward to the day when Pete decides to consider recovery again.'
