Hey guess what- Camden is cool again. North London will be packing them in again as the Music Hall of Fame. The deal here is odd though. You can perform with a hologram of your favorite artists. The hologram is BACK! Born from Tupac and going strong I can see this is going to spread like wildfire. Cheap enough to do and enough suckers born every minute to make it a worthy investment!
The project’s manager Lee Bennett tells the London Evening Standard, “You could be transported back to a specific moment of music or play with artists who are no longer alive, even playing back-to-back with a hologram. I was at Coachella watching Tupac and it blew people’s minds.”
The Mayor of Camden Jonathan Simpson adds, “You can go and perform with your favorite bands – you can be up there with Nirvana, you can be up there with Morrissey on stage.”
I think the circus attraction of it will cause a stir but for how long? The tourists will love it too. I wonder what the add on fee would be? I can see the hologram bit being a load of fun in other scenarios. Although, I adore Morrissey I don’t think I would want to stand next to his hologram- I mean c’mon you cant hug that!
I suppose watching yourself with an artist is good for a laugh but so is standing next to a wax sculpture. The museum opens next year. Oh, and you will get a dvd of your performance so there’s that…
