Paul Simon performing The Sound of Silence during the 10th anniversary of 9/11

Have you seen it? Last Sunday morning, during the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Paul Simon performed a moving rendition of his famous song ‘The Sound of Silence’.

Ten years ago, he was singing ‘Bridge over Troubled Water’ during ‘A Tribute to Heroes’ in the week following the tragic event.

9/11 victims’ relatives were watching Simon’s performance, and if you have missed it, you can watch it now.  You may know or not that Simon wrote it in February 1964 in the aftermath of the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy, and even if people had heard the song a zillion times, it was completely fitting the moment
