Passion Pit has cancelled its July tour dates so lead singer Michael Angelakos can work on getting well.
The exact illness is sited as ‘mental’ but there are so many demons out there one cannot be sure of its exact cause.
Angelakos wrote on the bands website, , "On behalf of the band and myself, I would like to greatly apologize for the show cancelations. In order for me to ensure that there will be no further disruptions, I am going to take the time to work on improving my mental health. For now, I'd like to thank all of our fans for their understanding. I hope to see all of you very soon in a much different light."
Passion Pit has cancelled a few dates citing ‘band illness’, including the Banbury Music Festival in Cincinnati Ohio this past weekend.
Passion Pit's upcoming sophomore album, "Gossamer," is due out July 24. The release's lead single, "Take a Walk," in May to great review. There is a tremendous new following for these guys, we can only hope whatever needs to be sorted out with Angelakos health is done so to completion. We see so many musicians fall to pieces in front of us an the industry is not kind. Be it addictions or mental health issues the public wants the product that they’re promised, no matter what the cost. In a world of disposable talent we really need to support those who have the bravery to put their routine and potential rise to semi fame on hold to put their heads on straight.
We wish the band the best of luck.
