It is hard to feel sorry for celebrities at all. I mean, they have fame, fortune, full monty top of the food chain, right? Fuck em, I say. But they also have the constant glare of the public and its rabid dog offshoot the Paparrazi. Putting aside their responsibility for the death of Princess Di, how do they justify the relentless hounding of 18 year old Justin Bieber and 20 year old Taylor Swift, among many many others. For a picture? Or using high power telescopic pictures of another Princess (you think they'd have learned their lesson, depriving William of his mother, they go after his wife) sunbathing in privacy.
In the Rolling Stone cover story on Bieber he came across like three kinds of brats until he is hounded out of a golf came by intrusive photographers. They are like roaches and it was very sad.
And it is a very dangerous occupation, a non stop race in cars and planes to track and snap celebs like they are wild animals and the Paparazzi is on Safari. Altercations between celebs and photographers are constant and dices with death , car accident, violence occur non stop. On Tuesday it took a photographer Chris Guerro's life.
According to LA Times: "The incident took place on Sepulveda Boulevard near Getty Center Drive shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday. A friend of Bieber was driving the sports car when it was pulled over on the 405 Freeway by the California Highway Patrol. The photographer arrived near the scene on Sepulveda, left his car and crossed the street to take photos. Sources familiar with the investigation said the CHP told him to leave the area. As he was returning to his vehicle, he was hit by the SUV."
Bieber is looking for legislation to stop these guys from at least driving like maniacs. So far, the tough part is centering a piece of law based on a profession. I guess Bieber is thinking of something like the hate crimes law where the penalties are bigger for Paparazzi driving dangerously than for civilians but I doubt it will happen.
Guerro is one casualty of this pathetic war, wait for the next one…
