After making my living sneering at Animal Collective for the past year, Panda Bear’s single “Tomboy” took me by surprise. I had bought it randomly, and had forgotten about (maybe hadn’t even heard it, it sure didn’t register) when it showed up on a mix. With no idea who it was this hauntingly lovely, disconnected chanting indie something or the other blew me away.
Whoops.
