Keith Morris sounds like 1984 and looks like he's 84. This is a tricky business this whole punk rock thing. I mean punks not about how you look, right? It's about rebellion ii's about freedom, its about…youth.
See, I am not a youth, I don't pretend to be although I am very immature. There are certain benchmark ages. Example, do not wear little animal shaped earrings after age 10, do not wear skater hoodies after age 20, do not wear socks with dresses after age 25, ya with me?
The song "Wiped Out' is an in your face kick ass punk rock tune. The moment i heard it I gave out a squeal cuz it's just so nice to hear real punk these days. Everything is so 'post punk' or has a thousand other labels.
What bothers me is the video. There is Grandpa and his friends from the Rotary Club making great music for teenagers. I expect Chris Hanson to show up like this is a horrible episode of Dateline. They don't fit- they look horrific and to make matters worse lets throw in some teenaged sexuality to really make me want to puke.
Keith, you're amazing. I think you have the best preserved punk rock vocals of all time. You dress the part, the dreads are gross but other than the basic wear and tear- its time to put the video camera down. This song would bullet without the geezer mugs. Even live these guys are great, hell Alyson has attested to it. But video?
Holy God no. No one wants to see hobo rock. Lets just stick to recorded and small clubs with low light.
