Sounds From Nowheresville – The Ting Tings – After dissing the new Ting Tings after a spin because time is money and I have neither and it wasn't clicking and it was reportedly based upon the Beastie Boys titanic over rated Paul's Boutique, a coupla songs began to click. The Salford duo's manic dance oriented, hip hop thrown in for taste, album takes a bit, but if you can get past "Hang It Up" you will eventually get to a buncha great stuff starting with "One By One" and if you flip back to the begining you will wonder whether "Silence" will hit it big. Grade: B+
Up All Night – One Direction – Cutiepies form after Simon Cowell tells em the world needs another boy band. A coupla songs are slightly above average tween pop ballad fodder. Grade: B-
We All Raise Our Voices To The Air – The Decemberists – The indie folkies make the Shins look like Pentagram on this live disaster. Worst moment? When Colin Meloy fails to get a singalong sungalong.on "Billy Liar". Why would he release it? I don't grasp the concept. Grade: C
White Flag – Passion – Passion – Atlanta Minister was the brains behind the ministry that brought us David Crowder Band -the best of the musical congregation who release their live albums. It really isn't very good, MOR rock and roll is still MOR rock and roll whoever you're worshipping, though Crowder is always worth a listen. Grade: C+'
Delta Spirit – Delta Spirit – Nothing remotely as great as "Trashcan", instead it is all heavy duty spiritual uplift and sound mash ups. But the playing is very strong and if it feels over weened, maybe that has much to do with the California bands ability to make big rock and roll sounds. Grade: B
Sonik Kicks – Paul Weller – Lives up to its name, and sometimes the sonic bashing really works, but mostly it sucks. Grade: B-
Anarchy My Dear – Say Anything – If you can get past the lead singers voice you might… nah, I can't do it. Mary Magpie loves this album. I think they are a thunderously ordinary emo-rock band. Grade: B-
Milk Famous – White Rabbits – Yeah, I know what you think. I think the minute you hear Spoon is involved you should hide under the table. Grade: C+
