Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds 'We No Who U R' Video Review

Oh, Mr Cave what the hell are you doing.  Your schtick is so incredibly outdated.  It was outdated in the 80's and its now.. a really long long way from relevant.

The first single from the forthcoming Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album Push the Sky Away (out 18th February 2013) brings us this 'haunting' and 'eerie' video.

I'm kidding, although directed by acclaimed Argentine film director Gasper Noal it appears to be a cross between the Blair Witch Project and X Files.  Pretty sassy stuff with a flashlight and a camera.  But adding Caves voice it just seems right.  As campy as The Munsters, but with less humor.  Nick is serious and hes really out of touch with the whole eerie gothy sort of dark rock sound.  This is more Bauhaus then Bucher Baby.  Too tame too 'faux art'.  There are real artists making really cool arty videos for great dark music and this is like watching your Uncle Bob polka at a family wedding.  Painful and you wish it would end just so there was a shred of dignity left before the Bud Light runs out.

I didn't even mind that silly Grinderman side gig Nick took on as much.  This is full blown Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, these guys are legend!  Its a damn shame they come back with this.

Oh and they're announcing a support tour of Mexico and the US. I wonder if the rest of the album is better than this?  Then again we know it cant be worse.
