New Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds Ready for 2013

From the tidings of great joy fils here at rock nyc, comes news via Brooklynvegan that Nick Cave And The Badseeds have their first albums since their excellent 2008 Dig Lazarus Dig ready and waiting for a February 12th (my bet) release.

I saw them at Theater At MSG on the tour and they were soooo good and the album, if only because of the title track, was an immensely and awesome Goth rock Crampsy awash in the dry heathers things. Boatloads better than the frankly ineffectual score to the dreadful “Lawless”.

It will be five years between albums by the time we get our hands on Push The Sky Away, and all I have to say is

1. Five years is way too long, especially if you’re not even going to tour.

2.  The album name could be better. All the words are kinda weak, maybe “Push” is alright… but nothing compares to the Proper Noun in the 2008 effort.

What he should have done is played a coupla gigs around town to keep his hand in, but I guess it won’t happen till 2013 (when, it will, of course, happen and then some). There is a new single “We No Who U R” dropping December 4th  and again, not crazy about the name. Actually, there is something  little off “We Real Cool” ….  do I see a concept album in our future?

1. We No Who U R
2. Wide Lovely Eyes
3. Water's Edge
4. Jubilee Street
5. Mermaids
6. We Real Cool
7. Finishing Jubilee Street
8. Higgs Boson Blues
9. Push The Sky Away
