You Suck At Love – Simple Plan – Mary Magpie was 2 years old when these guys formed, but they are a timeless teen appealling pop-rock band and I see what she loves about them. Clever lyric as well. TRACK OF THE WEEK
So In Love – Jill Scott – this isn't as bad as I claimed a coupla days ago, a dusky smoked filled r&b plus hooky chorus.
Tough – Kellie Pickler – Bliuesy country work out. The playing is great, the singing is good, the sentiments smart, "back off thereain't nothing wrong with a woman got a little backbone" a great line, but the song is not there.
Shangri-La – YACHT – Can this any any more twee? Draggy band with lots of hip credentials.
First Of The Year (Equinox) – Skrillex – Opinions differ over this band here at rock nyc. This is pretty good electronic sampler.
Pressure And Time – Rival And Sons – rock and soul screamer with great chick singer
Harlan County Line – Dave Alvin – I prefer the former Blaster in rock and roll than country blues mode.
Collision Of Worlds – Robbie Williams and Brad Paisley – There is zero excuse for this song being this lame. The mix of Limey and Brad should kill but it is just dumbass "hail to the chief/god save the queen" nonsense.
Sorry For Party Rocking – LMFAO – The first big disappointment from the dance duo: it is like a reverse rock remix and it isn't fast enough.
Whatever's On Your Name – Gomez – Pretty folk rock but the strings are overkill
Cold Feet – Liam Finn – Modern singer-songwriter, like his pop he is a little too busy
