My Fave Tracks, Sunday, June 26th, 2011

1. New York City (Linus Remix) – Ramona – Killer dance remix. Simultaneously moodier and all four on the floor.

2. Hot Fun Summertime –  Sly and the Family Summertime feat Bootsy Collins – I keep writing, yeah, everybody knows this, but when was the last time you listened to it. A terrific song as well.

3. Love You Like A Love Song – Selena Gomez And The Scene – Excellent excellent excellent pop song. This deserves to be huge.

4. Bring The Light – Beady Eye – My buddy Larry Lachman thinks they are Oasis Lite. And they are. But not here.

5.. The First Time I Saw Jupiter – Fall On Your Sword – I can't wait to see "Another Earth" again.

6. 1+1 – Beyonce – Can this song be any better? And I don't get the Prince references at all. Prince has written a song this good this century. It completely turned me round on "Umbrella" guy The Dream.

7. Untold Stories – Buju Banton – How did this happen. As Alyson writes in a post coming up in a coupla days, he is guilty but he was entrapped.

8. Remember My Name – Fucked Up – They have a name for this, classic rock. The intro? They owe Townsend royalties.

9. Shine My Girl – Black Uhuru

10. Like They Always Do – Total Babes – It sounds like it was recorded underwater and, for male oriented lo fi with a male singer, it is oddly liquidy.
