Nirvana has always been a very famous band always adored by the youth, but let’s face it, they are hotter than ever mostly because of these two new documentaries, re-animating the conversation about the investigation into Kurt Cobain’s death, and I am especially talking about ‘Soaked in Bleach’ here!

Mj Poukkula, daughter of Tony Poukkula has chosen this moment to make public a few never-seen-before pictures of a very early Nirvana show, probably the first Nirvana show ever, according to Alternative Nation. She tweeted these pictures (above) with the comment ‘Pictures of my dad and Kurt Cobain playing together back in the day’.

She explained that her dad went to high school with Kurt and used to play with him, obviously before he became famous…The show was a house party which took place in March 1987 at 17 Nussbaum Road in Raymond, Washington, and according to his daughter, his dad was also in a band named Laytem.

According to this French page, the concert/house party was recorded and the line up was different, as Dave Grohl hadn’t joined the party yet and Aaron Burckhard was drumming instead… The reviewer even says that Burckhard was a bit heavy on the drums and that the show was somewhat amateurish, but almost nobody was listening at the time, because everyone was drunk, the band included. So where is Poukkula? He was apparently living in the house and he played guitar with them during a few songs, and according to this other fan page ‘it’s actually Tony Poukkula who can be heard yelping how he doesn’t know the solo to “Heartbreaker” before cracking out a brief rip.’

The Setlist (Downer – Aero Zeppelin – If you Must – Heartbreaker Jam – How Many More Times Jam – Mexican Seafood – Pen Cap Chew – Spank Thru – Hairspray Queen) is amazing too, with two Led Zeppelin covers, ‘How Many More Times’ and ‘Heartbreaker’ that Cobain pretends not to be able to play. Then you can hear Kurt sing ‘Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Sounds of Silence’ and Krist start Aerosmith’s ‘Walk This Way’ and Kingsmen’s ‘Louie, Louie’..

So here are the first published pictures ever of the first Nirvana show ever, known as the Raymond show. The show (audio only, yes it was 1987 after all) has even been uploaded on YouTube:
