Must See: Snoop And Diddy, January 2015

Lodi Dodi they like to party

Lodi Dodi they like to party

The last time I saw P Diddy on stage was at the VMA’s during the Biggie tribute and the last time I saw Snoop he was playing with Eminem on the Up In Smoke tour so yeah, it’s been awhile, but the time is sometimes right and the news that Snoop and Diddy were teaming up for a one at The Theatre at Madison Square Garden, where, incidentally, DIddy showed up two days after Biggie was shot at a Women In Rap gig (one of a handful of times I was the only white guy in the audience –New Edition with Blackstreet opening –I sat behind Whitney Houston) was another.

Anyway, sure P. Diddy and No Way Out, Snoop and Doggystyle, old school fella… just as long as we don’t get Snoop Lion when they perform together as Hot 97 Presents: The Tip-Off starring Puff Daddy & Snoop Dogg on February 12 th. 2015. A Thursday, which isn’t a Friday but isn’t a Sunday either. And the chance to see two legends, one of whom stands as the inventor of modern hip hop and the other one of the great voices of rap.

I took a look at Snoop’s setlist from this December and it is pretty awesome, over and above fist fulls of gin and juice there is also tracks by 2Pac, Biggie, House Of Pain and, er, Joan Jett… here it is and I spotified it below. See you in February.
