Sure, she creeps me out a little. The former Pan's People and Hot Gossip, dancer/singer has a fair to middling soprano and sings classical, if you can call former husband, the King Of Rodents, Andrew Lloyd Webber a writer of classics, or operas, and not the pop maestro with disillusions of grandeur back up by huge successes a couple decades back.
Phew, long sentence! I lost my way!!!
Anyway, Sarah is considered a major vocalist, starred in the original "Phantom", lotsa fans, albums don't do much but hey, she once sang lead on "I Married A Starship Trooper" and she was once cute in a chipmunky kinda way.
Though, come to think of it, didn't Webber's decline (saleswise, I mean, musically he never improved on "Jeeves") began with the hooking up with Sarah, Just saying, like no big whoop. But… I have a friend who has problems eating peanut butter and jelly because he doesn't like salt and sugar hanging out together. I feel the same way about opera singers singing pop music.. Though, of course, Sarah isn't much of either so it should be OK.
Sarah is playing Radio City Music Hall, Saturday, February 8th, 2013 and I have never seen her live and I wonder if her voice stands up. Not to mention her cheeks. Hits me as a must see. Maybe she will sing "Memories". We don't know. We will have to wait and see!
