In yet another attempt to put your record company into bankruptsy, Warner Brothers may not renew their licensing deal with streaming music website “Spotify”.
In one of the most intelligent comments I’ve read by a rock musician this year, WB recording artists Muse’ bass player Chris Wolstenholme said: “It’s like taking your song off the radio, isn’t it? You’re instantly taking your song away from a group of potential listeners”
If the majors make the same mistake with streaming music as they did with MP3s and cut off another form of revenue and another outlet to have their bands heard, they will have nobody left to blame but thewmselves for their death.
