Pete Wentz: UNICEF Spokesperson by Helen Bach

Pete Wentz has been named the official spokesperson of UNICEF’s ‘Tap” project taking place during World Water Week (3/21-3/37) um…didn’t even know there WAS World Water Week but anyway..
The program now in its 4th year is to raise awareness and money for clean water for children around the world.
Although I miss the bass flinging, stage runner and all he did as a performer, I’m not sure what he’s trying to morph into now. Is he a designer? Is he a philanthropist? Is he Mr Mom? Does anything have to do with music or is he now just a ‘face’ (and a pretty one too)
Regardless of what Pete wants to be UNICEF is a straight up organization with great intention.
“It’s truly an honor to be the national spokesperson for the Tap Project and support efforts to provide clean water to children in the developing world,” said Wentz. “Water is something that we as Americans often take for granted but the reality is, the lack of clean and accessible drinking water kills 4,100 children under the age of five every day and as a new father I have become highly attuned to the needs of children everywhere. Unfortunately, it’s usually when emergencies like Haiti occur, that the importance of clean water really becomes apparent to the rest of us.”
And if you’re in the crowd tonight, have a drink on me…
