Mr. Little Jeans' cover of Arcade Fire's the Suburbs

I rarely appreciate covers of the bands I like a lot, but there is something interesting about this one. Mr. Little Jeans, a Norvegian London-based artist I had never heard about, recorded an ethereal cover of Arcade Fire’s ‘The Suburbs’, and the result is actually quite fascinating.

With swirls of electronics and chopped synth, her breezy voice provides a unique, slow-down take on the song, and none of the moving lyrics are lost in the dense and foggy, slowly-unfolding music.

Last year, one of Monica Birkenes’ (her real name) song, ‘Rescue Song’, was featured in two commercials for Hewlett Packard and Honda commercials, and she also covered Beyonce’s anthem ‘Single Ladies’, so she has quite a range.
