YAY, for new songs that don't SUCK!
The Wombats got it again this time with the single "Techno Fan". I must must must see this band live and I must do so right away.
I reviewed (and loved) "Anti D" awhile ago and here is yet another fab pick from the LP "This Modern Glitch" which doesn't drop until freakin April 24.
I have not sat hand wringing for a new release in forever. Yet the Wombats had me at hello.
‘Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation’ came out in 2007, which is nearly the days of Christ in the music world. But to this day that disc is on heavy repeat. The upbeat melodies combined with self loathe lyrics are just to precious.
I love how they describe the sound of the new release:
“You take the electro and you take the grunge and you put it together with what we used to do on the first album,” says Tord, “then that’s what the album’s going to be.” Dan nods, a sparkle in his eye. “It’s gonna be a whirlwind adventure.”
So psyched. Until then, take a look at this silly boys and dance about the room. I will:
