If Miley Cyrus's version of "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You're Gone" wasn't my fave song off the Amnesty Internation Dylan fest, it was damn close to it.
Dylan is no stranger to country but the song, off Blood On The Tracks no less, always hit me as much closer to folk than country. The album itself was like Bobby goes electric AGAIN. And coming off a coupla disappointing albums (relatively disappointing, relax yourself), was more than a return to form but a new height, comparably
This is a strong country version on a not particularly easy song. Miley's vocal is lovely and heartful, plus? She can't figure out why "Honolulu" doesn't rhyme , so she lets it not rhyme. Cool stuff.
Miley is gonna come back with a bang, maybe she will be a cool Kelly Clarkson who actually likes sex or a Miranda Lambert who won't bitch us out all the time. But she will do it, she will be good. Maybe dance wasn't quite a perfect fit, country rock would be.
