The Canadian band Metz is a noisy messy recipe, but a pancake batter recipe? The noise-grunge-punk band has announced a new album, simply called ‘METZ II’ set to be released on May 5th on Sub Pop, and you can now listen to the new single ‘Acetate’ just on time for Pancake day! Just watch the song and you’ll understand.
The song is their usual earth-shaking, head-banging, ear-bleeding party, as I said, they have an excellent recipe and they keep delivering new and improved versions of their powerful formula. ‘Acetate’ is a grungy distortion with massive dissonance and manic screaming moving between anger and despair. This chaos is nevertheless the soundtrack for some delicious and awesome homemade pancakes cooked in front of your eyes by Metz’s friend Travis Millard, assisted by his cute dog Rodney. So I don’t know what this ‘(not the video)’ means because it is a real video, very creative and I really want to try this new art form.
