Remember about this new Beck’s song ‘Looking for a Sign’, for the movie ‘Jeff who lives at Home’? Well it was posted on Soundcloud, and it terribly sounds like a Beck song, with these melancholic guitar chords coming straight from his ‘Sea Change’ era, some pedal-steel guitar, a lot of Neil-Young-esque harmonica and a surprising banjo.
With all these elements, the slow tune could easily be qualified of ‘country’, but Beck’s vocals are definitively too familiar to be missed, although there is something about his voice that sounds a little different, is it the ageing? After all, Beck hasn’t released an album for four years.
