Let's Active: rock nyc's Concert Picks For The Week Of October 6th, 2014

Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac

I saw Fleetwood Mac on April 13th, 2013 and despite considering it simply one of the great concerts of the year, I still wrote it was missing something, it was missing the incomparable Christine McVie (read my review here). Well, on Monday at Madison Square Garden it won’t be missing Ms. McVie and it should be superb. For godssake, the second song of the evening will be “You Make Loving Fun”.

Tuesday – Malawi Mouse Boys – Live @360 – A sort of folk music but religious based from Africa. Both of their albums are terrific

Tuesday – Charli XCX – Webster Hall – Singing her own hit “Boom Clap” and the hooks you wanna hear on “Fancy” and “I Love It”… enjoy her in Webster Hall, she will be graduating to T5 momentarily.

Tuesday – Big K.R.I.T – Highline Ballroom – Second generation Atlanta hip hop which lead the way for the A$APs of the world.

Tuesday – Jackson Browne – Beacon Theatre – His new single “Yeah yeah” is killer

Tuesday – Perfume Genius – NHOW – The Queen Of Brooklyn rules the world

Thursday – Jessie J – Gramercy Theater – Another woman you won’t be seeing in search close quarters any time soon

Thursday – Acoustic Anarchy – rock nyc is the promotional partners on this but even if we weren;’t we’d be touting Viv And The Revival, Magnolia Memoirs and the unreally great Fly Panda

Thursday – Judas Priest – Barclay Center – When they recently played Russia they were told to tone done the gay stuff…

Friday – Yelle – Irving Plaza – This is one cool French band of electronica smarties, Dr. Luke produced their brand new album, and the EDM Lemonade are opening

Sunday – BB King – BB Kings – The last time I saw the blues great was just a year ago with Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy and I am frankly worried he can’t live up to that wonderful evening.
