Well, we all knew this was the one to see and this was the one to see, an epic performance that started at 815pm and ended at 1am with three mammoth sets and Derek Trucks on fire and Gregg Allman taking over the reigns of his namesake band, it sounds like I shoulda tried harder to get a ticket. $400 for a nosebleed, I just couldn’t do it and work all day so no chance of making it to standby. So I settled for the penultimate show on Monday here and was disappointed.
The show went on so long it ended on Duane Allman’s birthday, October 29th and here is a taste of what we missed, Trucks tearing it up, filmed by one Alan Paul

Ok everyone Heres your Dreams And the audience is turning it into a singalong. And now we slide into Liz Reed. Oteil lays down a wicked bass solo. And into JaBuMa land we sail… Make that JaBuMaOt. Oteil just took over Butch’s kit and Butch moved to the tympani. This audience is still pumped to the max! Gregg asks after Revival “How’s everyone doing out there ?” Crowd: “Yeeaaaahhhhhhh!”

After WP the guys came forward and took a bow, then Gregg talked about the beginnings
Then announced they were going to end it with the first song they ever played
And Trouble No More became the first, and the last, song played by the Allman Brothers Band
