Last Night, October 28th, 2014, The Allman Brothers Played Their Final Concert…. Here Is The Setlist

The Allman Brothers final Performance

The Allman Brothers Final Performance

Well, we all knew this was the one to see and this was the one to see, an epic performance that started at 815pm and ended at 1am with three mammoth sets and Derek Trucks on fire and Gregg Allman taking over the reigns of his namesake band, it sounds like I shoulda tried harder to get a ticket. $400 for a nosebleed, I just couldn’t do it and work all day so no chance of making it to standby. So I settled for the penultimate show on Monday here and was disappointed.

The show went on so long it ended on Duane Allman’s birthday, October 29th and here is a taste of what we missed, Trucks tearing it up, filmed by one Alan Paul

All this info I took from Hittin’ The Web With the Allman Brothers, a brilliant website for ABB fanatics. So first the setlist

Mike Solo:

KCJimmy: “Gregg is singing a lot. Should be some instrumentals soon.”

Brosicle: “John McEnroe in VIP on left, right behind what looks like a sleepy Susan Tedeschi”

Rowland: “Some hairy BAD geetar work and then Warren back with a GROWLING vocal Still on TSiC We are witnessing one for the ages tonight. Ok everyone Heres your Dreams And the audience is turning it into a singalong. And now we slide into Liz Reed. Oteil lays down a wicked bass solo. And into JaBuMa land we sail… Make that JaBuMaOt. Oteil just took over Butch’s kit and Butch moved to the tympani.  This audience is still pumped to the max! Gregg asks after Revival “How’s everyone doing out there ?” Crowd: “Yeeaaaahhhhhhh!”

“Wow.

After WP the guys came forward and took a bow, then Gregg talked about the beginnings
Then announced they were going to end it with the first song they ever played

And Trouble No More became the first, and the last, song played by the Allman Brothers Band

Thank you and Good Night!”

Thanks Rowland, thanks Hittin’ The Web and thanks Allman Brothers.
