Lady Gaga Reveals She Was Raped By Famous Music Producer At 19

We are living during some kind of rape era right now, every celebrity has been involved in a rape it seems, and the last one in date? Lady Gaga, who revealed in the Howard Stern show on SiriusXM (where else?) that she was raped as a teenager and that her song ‘Swine’ off her 2013 Artpop album was ‘inspired’ ( if I can use such a term) by this sexual assault.

She said she was raped at 19 by a guy 20 years older than her, but was right away in denial:

‘It didn’t affect me as much right after as it did about four or five years later,’ she said. ‘It hit me so hard. I was so traumatized by it that I was like, ‘Just keep going,’ because I just had to get out of there.’

And denial and hiding the incident is not entirely surprising behavior for women who have been raped, it’s even very common unfortunately:

‘I’ll be damned if somebody’s going to say that every creatively intelligent thing that I ever did has boiled down to one dickhead that did that to me,’ she said. ‘I’m going to take responsibility for all of my pain, looking beautiful, and all the things that I’ve made out of my strife.’

Of course Stern was interested by knowing who that guy was, but did she even confront him?

‘I think it would terrify me’, she said, ‘It would paralyze me. I saw him one time in a store and I was paralyzed by fear. It wasn’t until I was a little bit older that I went, ‘Wow, that was really messed up.’

Gaga was doing the interview to promote her new album with Tony Bennett ‘Cheek to Cheek’ and it seems that she has healed to a certain point,

‘All this drinking and all this nonsense, you have to go to the source, Otherwise it just won’t go away.’

But she also said the guy was a big music producer… so who is the guy? She did not say, but according to the Daily Mail and TMZ, attorney Mark Geragos tweeted it was producer Dr. Luke, the same guy who is sued by singer Kesha for sexual assault and battery… of course he is denying all the accusations, but according to Geragos, there are three other women claiming similar bad experiences with the guy, so I guess we have another Cosby case and this makes Lady Gaga’s story even more plausible.

I know that people are gonna say that Gaga is once again looking for attention because her career now depends on Tony Bennett’s survival, but rape is rarely a cry for attention – although the Conor Oberst case comes to mind….

Then, if she was raped, why would Gaga do a video with rapist R Kelly, singing ‘Do What You Want With my Body’? It’s complex but at the same time, this is the same woman who has been struggling with eating disorder and bulimia for years and has made someone vomit on her during a performance! During the same interview, she even explained: ‘I want this chick to throw up on me in front of the world, so that I can tell them, ‘You know what? You could never, ever degrade me as much as I degrade myself, and look how beautiful it is when I do.’ How sick is this?
