Kenny G, the easy listening King of jazz who swings gently yet firmly, will be playing in the UK and if I was you, I would go. I saw Kenny G once, at radio City Music hall, with Toni Braxton opening. As strange mix for sure but an interesting one. Kenny wore a really cool sweater and I think it was Christmas. It was like 20 years ago so he was much younger but I think Kenny went right into the middle of the orchestra and played for the entire room.
So here is his the PR release:
““Kenny G”, the most successful saxophonist of all time, begins his UK tour at the Manchester Bridgewater Hall on Sunday April 20, followed Birmingham Symphony Hall (April 21) and Hammersmith Eventim Apollo (April 22).
Having sold over 75 million albums, singles and videos, Kenny’s trophy cabinet contains Grammy, American Music, Soul Train, and World Music awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In a recording career that spans almost three decades and 23 albums, Kenny G has grafted elements of R&B, pop and Latin to a jazz foundation, solidifying his reputation as the premiere artist in contemporary jazz.
