I was just on Hollywood boulevard yesterday to go to the El Capitan for the Jimmy Kimmel live show, so I could have seen this giant gold truck. But I just saw pictures of it on Twitter to be honest and there was even a picture showing the truck in front of the El Capitan theater! What was this about? This truck was simply announcing the release of Katy Perry’s next album, ‘Prism’ on October 22nd,… I mean you can read by yourself, the whole thing is written on it! And if this may be costly, it was very efficient, as the pop star was encouraging people to post pictures of it on Twitter and other social medias,… and somehow, it made its way to me.
Still, it was a pretty strange move to announce a release this way. Nothing was explained, was ‘Prism’ the title of an album? Or a single? We now know it’s an album, and it sure made people talk about the pop diva, look at me, I can’t stand anything she sings, and I am writing about it! The truck was also spotted in San Francisco, and other cities will certainly follow as Perry wrote on Twitter.
This gold truck looks as ostentatious as any of Perry’s videos, it’s huge and meretricious, and it was probably the cause of a traffic nightmare on Hollywood boulevard. It just looks like another desperate trick of hers, just like the firework shooting out of her brassiere in this video. Lady Gaga will have a hard time to top this.
