Calm down already I'm kidding. Johnny Marr is a pretty cool guy and a fabulous guitarist. We had a nice debate here were former writers chimed in on why Johnny was the superior Smith.
For the record he is not. Both Morrissey and Marr brought unique elements to the magical Smiths and unless reunited there will never be another sound like theirs. But that being said Marr has spent an awful lot of time being a bridesmaid. Shame on him. He should have fronted up a solo group long ago. But we're going to let that slide now because he has finally gone and done it. Its almost as if time hasn't passed cuz the guy has the same hairstyle since 1981. Sorta like Rod Stewart I suppose….
Marrs new solo album "The Messenger" is a hoot. The single "Upstairs" is fabulous and Johnnys voice is glorious Some big praises there coming from me. I'm stoked he is touring. I think I may actually head out to see him. I feel sorry for the guy, all the press bugs him on the prospect of Smiths reunion but the best line was something he tweeted to an obnoxious faux fan "why go back 30 years when you can do new things ?"

Here are the local dates. On the Vegas and Santa Barbara dates the poor guy has to open for New Order. That's an early night for most of you kids cuz seriously do you want to see New Order now? They're so scrappy.
