If you are like me, a fan of everything Paul Thomas Anderson has ever made, and have truly admired his last movie ‘There will be blood’, an epic tale about a rude and godless oilman magnificently played by Daniel Day Lewis, and a film brilliantly scored by Jonny Greenwood,…. well, rejoice! There is another one coming soon.
The Radiohead guitarist will score again Anderson’s next movie, The Master.
And how do we know that? Thanks to a tweet from Oliver Weindling, founder of the British label Babel, saying: ‘Zed-U recorded part of soundtrack for Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead last week. Film (by Paul Thomas Anderson) to appear in 2013.’
Zed-U are a British jazz group and they are apparently recording the music.
According to cigsandredvines, Anderson’s fan site, the movie is about ‘A man who returns after witnessing the horrors of WWII and tries to rediscover who he is in post-war America. He creates a belief system, something that catches on with other lost souls.’
And, with Philip Seymour Hoffman playing this Ron-Hubbard-esque character, Joaquin Phoenix his right-hand man and disciple, Amy Adams his wife and Laura Dern in another role (still unknown), it seems to be like another masterpiece in the making,… especially with Jonny Greenwood behind the music.
