Miley Cyrus: SNL Gets Her Right, And Now Let's Leave Her Alone

On Saturday's SNL, best of the season in my opinion, they resurrected "The Miley Cyrus Show" featuring Vanessa Bayer as Miley (she has Miley's voice down completely), in the wake of Miley's friends baking her a Bob Marley cake and Miley's indiscrete "You know you're a stoner when…'

The bit begins as a take down, Miley with a bad case of the munches hanging with her stoner buddy and guest star, played by Steve Buscemi. But they get to the point a little later, with Maya Rudolph as Whitney Houston offer ring advice:

"As Miley giggled away, Houston showed off her tics and vocal talents, then said the young lady had to stay "off of that crack rock." Billy Ray then revealed Miley's drug of choice, which stunned Houston.

"What, that's it?" said Houston, shocked. "Weed's not a drug! … I put weed in my cereal this morning! I smoke weed just to go to Target"

Agreed. C'mon, pot is barely illegal.

It's just another excuse to beat up on Miley. If people aren't complaining that she's too fat (which she isn't close to being) or out of control or a slut, they are complaining that she smokes pot.

First she was put on a pedestal and then, when she insisted on being free to be herself, has had her reputation sullied by aggressively horrible moral watchdogs although I HAVEN'T HEARD OF ONE INAPPROPRIATE THING THAT SHE HAS DONE…

There is a danger in treating Miley this way. You can't pick on somebody like that. It isn't fair, it is, in fact, indecent.

Leave the bloody girl alone. If her moral turpitude amounts to a 19 year old girl sleeping with her boyfriend and smoking weed, nobody is safe. It is a blanket condemnation of 90% of teenage girls.

Stop picking on Miley Cyrus now.
