It is possible, even likely, that Jimmy Savile used his position as a leader of teen dreams, BBC teen personality, DJ "Jim'll Fix It" to get close to teenage girls, and maybe boys, maybe eleven year olds and 12 year olds, who knows, and force them to have sex with him through intimidation and star power.
But that he viciously raped 550 people is ridiculous.
And if you are going after the truth for God's sake don't lie about it.
I don't know how anybody can't notice that truth and fiction are getting hopelessly mixed up here. Imagine, if you will, that you are a 50 year old woman and the police come to push you to remember being raped by Savile? It happens so often it is mostly a technique, many young women have come forward, why don't you? You have nothing to be afraid of now, just save other young women from people in power. It is a hurricane that is sweeping over the UK and taking any sense of WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, along with it.
I don't think I believe it -it doesn't ring credible. Parts of it do, just not all of it. Something happened, Savile, like Jagger and Bill Wyman, Jerry Lee Lewis and Presley, among countless numbers, abused his position to fuck teenage girls. Maybe Savile went further and made Children Foundations for the sake of proximity. But does that constitute mass rape if so many other people who did similar things at the same time were not? There are cultural differences between 1973 and 2013.
Look at it this way: in 500 BC when a country defeated another country, it took its citizens as slaves. There were sound economic reasons for doing so. But can you really compare slavery by the ancient Greeks to the slave trade that brought Black people to the US? It is the same thing: Bill Wyman sleeping with a 13 year old girl when he was 35 years old is a known fact. Now imagine if Dave Matthews was discovered to have a 13 year old girlfriend.
I don't PARTICULARLY care about Savile's reputation. But what I don't like is the outpouring of sanctimonious bullshit and lies that surround the stories and always, the elephant in the room: IT WAS ONLY SAVILE AND ONE OR TWO OF HIS BUDDIES. So we don't have to think about it because WE DIDN'T DO IT.
Here is a typical story from the Daily Mirror: "But shortly after this snap was taken, Savile callously betrayed the trust of the 18-year-old and her parents Stanley and Phyllis by attacking her as she gave him a lift in her car. When disgusted Sylvia begged him to stop he simply turned round and launched himself at her friend in the back seat, groping and fondling her in the same way. Then, after he’d left Sylvia shaken and traumatized, the shameless star sent her a postcard calling her “Sylvie” with a chilling picture of his face. It said “Eye love Sylvie, so there says Jimmy xxxx”.
He attacked her while she was driving him?
Look, Savile was probably everything you think he was, but nevertheless, what is happening in UK STILL belittles his true victims. None of which has been proven yet…
