JayZ At Carnegie Hall

A two night stay at Carnegie Hall for charity is what’s up with Jay Z.  This February 6-7 the rapper will put perform in the most intimate of venues for the United Way of New York City and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.   The goal is to assist underprivileged city children with funds for college.

This could potentially be Jay Z unplugged.  Carnegie Halls acoustics are outstanding and the small size of the stage will certainly prevent and grand productions.  This could truely be the most vulnerable event for the mega star.

The rappers foundation has been in process since 2003 with a mission of helping individuals facing economic hardships further his or her education at institutions of higher learning.  Since then the foundation has given scholarship awards to over 750 students totaling more than$1.3 million dollars.

“It’severy artist’s dream to play a venue as legendary as CarnegieHall,” Jay-Z said. ”The fact that I can use the arts and my talent to benefit the education of the next generation of artists, entrepreneurs, and great thinkers makes for a legendary night.  I’m proud to be a part of the continuing work of United Way of New York City and expanding the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.”

Private ticket packages go on sale Dec. 12. A limited number of single tickets will go on sale to the public Jan. 30 at 11 a.m. EST.  Interestingly enough unitedwaynyc.org and shawncartersf.com are not currently listing the ticket or package price.
