Janet Jackson Named As The Grinch Of The Year By PETA

Janet Jackson can celebrate the new year, she has a new award as she has been named as the Grinch Of the Year by PETA!!

Why you may ask?… because her Blackglama collection she debuted in November, uses fur, yes the skin of dead animals.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals released this statement:

‘When Janet Jackson had her infamous ‘wardrobe malfunction’ during the Super Bowl, at least the flesh that popped into view was her own – unlike the stolen animal skins that she drapes herself with, which are as dead as her taste in fashion (not to mention her career), Ms. Jackson, you’re just plan nasty.’

That was a mean one! But Jackson even beat out Rihanna (who wore a Ostrich feather top), Kelis and Kim Kardashian which is probably something hard to do.

Last year, Kelis had answered to PETA in an public letter, declaring:

‘It's not just the look of fur. It's warm as hell and feels glorious, ever rubbed faux fur on your body? Nothing luxurious about that.’

‘If I started wearing endangered animals like polar bear or orangutan then talk to me. But the minks and chinchilla, that quite honestly are rodents and if weren't in the form of a coat I would demand they be put to death anyway (sic), are not an issue to me.’

First of all, minks are rodents?? Certainly not! They belong to the same order than dogs and cats, would she wear her pet on her back? She is an idiot.

And she continued by saying that killing animals was ‘part of the circle of life’.

Wearing furs may have been our cycle of life when we lived in caves and had to fight cold, but don’t give me the-circle-of-life thing as an excuse to wear fur in 2011! It is totaly insane to qualify a luxury product (that only a very few extra-rich people can afford) as the ‘circle of life’.

 She also said this:

‘I feel very strongly about a lot of things such as the sweatshops that spin cotton and the blood on their hands.’

‘If u (sic) want to preach do it about something worthwhile, don't waste my time trying to save the dang chipmunk.’

‘Find a worthwhile cause like the women being maimed in these Middle Eastern countries. Or female circumcision. Or women's rights here in America; we still get paid less for doing the same jobs as men.’

Why is she mixing everything? Of course there are world hunger and child slavery and tons of other causes,… but animal rights is a totally valuable cause, and I don’t understand why people put aside animals when it comes to ethics, we are animals too!

And does she know that China is the world’s largest exporter of fur garments? Recently a lot of fashion designers have ‘shifted their business to China where cheap labor and the absence of restrictive regulations make life easier and profit margins broader’ according to a report on the Chinese fur industry by the Swiss Animal Protection. So by buying fur she is also supporting these sweatshops she was talking about. Again she is an idiot.

And I kept the beginning of her letter for the end:

‘ I found out that the founder Ingrid Newkirk is completely batty. I had a feeling but she far exceeded my expectations. I mean certifiably insane! Lol this chicks will is nuts, google it – it’s a riot! Beyond the fact that I think she's a diabetic, which means she needs insulin, which is taken from lab pigs (I know this because my sister happens to be in veterinary school), which would be completely hypocritical. It’s like don't abuse animals unless it can help me.’

She is really misinformed, I have checked (googled as she advised) and Ingrid Newkirk is not a diabetic, but Mary Beth Sweetland, who used to be PETA vice president is. In any case I don’t know what kind of veterinary school her sister is attending but the vast majority of people requiring insulin treatment worldwide are now prescribed synthetic human insulin, manufactured using bioengineering (the human gene coding for insulin is inserted in other cells that manufacture insulin for us)… just google it Kelis!

I know that this letter is one year old, but she is back in the news because of Janet Jackson's new nomination. Should we conclude by this that people who are wearing fur are idiot? At least they are ignorant. And now it's's Janet's turn to give us a letter!
