Jackson 5ive: The Complete Animated Series to be released

The Jackson 5ive debuted on ABC on September 11, 1971 and was on the schedule until October 14, 1972. A total of 23 episodes were made and I remember them very clearly. None of the Jacksons (nor Barry Gordy) did the voices for the characters but the actors were great and the story lines entertaining.  Here is a fun fact, the only person in the group's career that did voice their own character was Diana Ross and it was only done for the premier episode.

Saturday morning cartoons could not be missed. That was it.  There were no childrens networks or DVD's', there weren't even VCRs yet.  Thais was your dose and if you missed it- too bad.  They were half hour adventures and cool as hell in a simple art form. The Jackson 5ive was created by  Rankin-Bass who were best known for Christmas specials like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is Coming to Town and for the creation of animated series for the Beatles and the Osmonds. They were also the first to bring  the Tolkien catalog to life with the animated The Hobbit and The Return of the King.

Restored and back you can now see the Jacksons again! Amazon has put up two listings for Jackson 5ive: The Complete Animated Series on both DVD and Blu-Ray.
