Irving Azoff Causing Worlds Of Trouble For Youtube

The Al Sharpton Of The Muic Business

The Al Sharpton Of The Muic Business

YouTube overeached with their “MusicKey Service”, a pay to stream music website which finally got the world off Spotify’s dick for awhile to crunch some Youtube numbers and discover that, surprise surprise, it was Google who were screwing over the artists. Get in line, right?

This is all that snot Irving Azoff (Randy Newman wrote “Short People” about the little guy according to Barney Hoskins). Azoff?”Since September 2013, he has been chairman and CEO of Azoff MSG Entertainment, a new venture with The Madison Square Garden Company. Prior to this he served as chairman and CEO of Ticketmaster Entertainment and was Executive Chairman of Live Nation Entertainment and CEO of Front Line Management. He is also on the board of Clear Channel Communications, Starz Inc., and IMG.”

Rooting for Azoff is just about impossible so it is unfortunate it is Azoff who is suing Youtube. “Irving Azoff, founder of Global Music Rights claims the site does not have the performance rights for thousands of songs from the artists the group represents, and thus need to remove them immediately, or they will face intense legal action. The group represents over 40 artists including Pharrell Williams, The Eagles, Chris Cornell, John Lennon and others.”
Azoff is the Al Sharpton of pop music, anywhere there’s a buck to be made there you will find him, lunch pail in hand, belligerently bulling any one who wants to have a dialogue. He is asking for one billion dollars. As Dick Destiny noted, “It takes a really big d— to take on Google. Google can make you disappear.”

The difficult thing about the music business in 2014 is there is no good guys. There is no Ertegun or Gordy: whenever you write in support of one of them, a Daniel Ek, you need a shower immediately after. Neil Bogart may have been a scumbag but he was a MUSICAL SCUMBAG, a showman, one of the boys. These bunch of hedge fund thieves in pinstripe suits should be thrown out of the business.
