Iman and hel do SNL: Radiohead

Radiohead is causing more stir in NYC than you can imagine. Its as if they were fallen Gods coming to bestow their greatness upon the hipster masses offering absolution and praise to the loyals.

Englands leaders of hip.  Considered alternative and progressive they have had numerous buzz hits from the uber depressing "Creep" to the disturbing "House of Cards".  Vocalist Thom Yorke is the master of ceremonies and say what you will they do draw a crowd and a feisty following.  Rumour has it there are tent cities set up in the Big Apple in anticipation of the lads arrival and pop up city shows.

Tonight was SNL's season opener and they opted for Radiohead to fire it up.  Hours before showtime I'm concerned.  I'm concerned not because my late night partner is out seeing Wavves and Fucked Up, he has precision timed trains to make it back in time for at least the second song- I'm concerned that there is very little 'umph' in Radioheads shtick.  Where's the beat?  Where's the 'start me up' pep rally of season opener?  Do we want to start out a brand new run whining and schlepping tales of woe?  That's what concerns me, cuz God knows I'd get Weezy or even Foster the People up there, not your fathers hipsters…

The shows started with a weak ass GOP debate that had e praying for a fast turn around… and then it was time for the musical guest.  Luckily Iman is back in time and doesnt miss all the fun.

Slicked up and old and in need of a shower Radiohead come on whining and complaining about something in a pitch that only dogs can hear.  I gotta agree with Iman that this is the ugliest band on earth, the most spastic dancers and "Yorke looks like a weasel and sings like a rat:

The background vocals sound like bees and the song ends soon enough before I slash my wrists.  If this is hip I'd rather be tragically unhip.

Its a damn good thing he has 3 maracas though, that extra shucka shucka makes it all the more trippy.

People are paying to see these guys live?  All mood enhancers- no music.
