So yeah the tofurkey is gone so whammo its Christmas.I am not the type of gal who goes over the top on any holiday really but I sorta dig Hoops and Yoyo so it was worth checking this new holiday show out.
The story line is basic. Hoops, Yoyo and Piddles jump onto Santas sleigh to check out the toys while Santa is in the house. Yoyo gets stuck, they travel a wormhole back to the 1800's where a young Kris Kringle is a stable boy. Kringle is working on a toy for the village Toymaster Contest and of course the visitors crash in and destory it. The goal becomes to repair the toy and get it to judging so Kringle can win
The music in the repair scene is pretty dang snazzy. A Blink 182 sorta Mark Hoppus pop punk beat. Its funny as I watched I thought it was going to be New Found Glory or something. Instead I wait til credits and find its Parry Gripp.
Who the heck is Parry Grip?
Well after a bit of research I find Parry is actually the parody song maker of such wondrous hits as "nom nom nom nom nom', 'fuzzy fuzzy cute cute' and the best title of a song EVER "Baby Monkey (Going Backward On A Pig). Parry loves fuzzy animals and scored a huge win with the Hallmark funded Christmas show.
The song used in the special is not titled which is a shame, its really fun and its really good. Parry Gripp is one funny musician and I just wasted about 40 min of my life watching hamsters eat popcorn while lying on a piano. All in a days work.
Not too bad for November,theres gotta be tons more out there. Gosh darnit Im gonna find it all.
