Henry Rollins is what we used to call a chatterbox. Bla bla blajub jub jub.. on and on about every topic you can think of. What makes his spoken word shows so remarkable is is delivery, his content and his passion.
He is not a comedian but he is uproariously funny. He is not a motivational speaker, but he gets you off your ass. He is not a politician nor a shaman but he makes you think he gets you armed with information and he send you on your way. I admire his intelligence. Though I may not agree with his every thought, I do agree with the fact that we must, as a society become more aware of the world around us.
Rollins has many passions and many life stories that he shares like an old punk rocker would. In your face opinionated and all grown up. He is currently on his Capitalism tour hitting the northeast next month and when that concludes. Well he begins some interesting residencies.
The Long March with five shows in six nights at Joe’s Pub in New York City (November 8-10 and November 12-13). Henry will perform three shows apiece in Chicago (November 15-17 at Old Town School of Folk), Toronto (November 19-21 at Glenn Gould Studio) and San Francisco (November 22, 23 and 25 at Yoshi’s), before concluding this latest run with five nights at Largo in Los Angeles (November 27-December 1).
I think you should really go and check him out. You can even hang out to speak to him after the show. He is personable and has more stories thank your great grandpa Joe. A great night out.
