On Spotify, I follow every name I see because I love to look at what people are listening to at the left hand side. When I am on the subway I find myself sneaking a peak at people’s Iphones to check out what they are listening to, and back in the day I used to review peoples favorite IPOD songs. But recently I have been unable to find a way to update the concept until now. When I asked my Facebook friends, and my friends at 45 Revolutions Per Minute, to offer up their five favorite songs.
I figure I’ll get through em all eventually and first things first, here is Nikki Vee of Rhode Island’s song list. Not faves, not best, just what she is listening…
Will You Succeed – Plasmatics – I think this is the song I know as “You’ll Succeed”, wendy O’williams self help and just a shame she couldn’t follow it herself. This is metal as doo wop.
My Sweet Lord – George Harrison – Uh oh. He is so fine indeed, a spiritual masterpiece destroyed by plagiarism but really if this is plagiarism what isn’t? Harrison replied with the crappola “This Song” mainly because no one would take responsibility for it.
What Is Life – George Harrison – This is where Harrison’s voice kinda hurts him, it begs to be covered by somebody with a wider range but so what? It equates love life and faith.
Every Breaking Wave – U2 – People don’t like U2 because they are sick of their shenanigans, this is a pretty, well written rock and soul joint but people are too tired to hear it.
Good Vibes – John Brown’s Body – Skaville USA, nice little mover
