Did you see when Gotye was on Saturday Night Live how the guys did a parody of the painting from the video for "Somebody That I Used To Know"? Now THAT was freakin hilarious. I loved how it showed true fanaticism. Sorta creepy but in a cool way.
Well, Australian artists Emma Hack spent nine hours with (Gotye) three weeks ago in her studio painting a replica of the video featuring Wally covered in body paint. Eww.
Emma was the artist who painted Wally and Kimbra for the 'Somebody That I Used To Know' video. The stop animation in the video took 23 hours to create. That's a whole lot longer than the song took to write that's for sure. I really shouldn't spew too much though cuz the song doesn't suck its actually quite good if I'm in the mood for that sort of thing.
The painting was auctioned for the Art Series Hotels Charity Auction with proceeds going to Make A Wish Australia and The Thin Green Live. So at least it was for a very good and very important cause.
