Coldplay Is Going Broke Because Of Their Stupid Flashing Wristbands

Coldplay are offering this gadget to their fans during their current tour, a flashing wristband which lights up during the show, but they now have a big problem in their hands: this hip technology cost tons of money!

Most of the money we’re earning on the tour is put into the wristbands,’ declared Chris Martin to The Sun, ‘We have to figure out how to keep it going without going broke because it’s a crucial part of the concert’.

Is it only me or it is very funny? At last their vanity has caught them up, and Martin is kind of aware of it as he continued:

It’s a little self-indulgent but we love the way it looks when there are 15,000 or 40,000 or however many people with all those lights on them. The technology is still very experimental.’

Yeah, it looks good and cool so they don’t want to give up on it.

The band wanted to ask for the wristbands back after their shows (good luck with that!), but their lawyers dissuaded them as the wristbands had to be cleaned up, or they would face the risk to contaminate some people, since in a large crowd you may always have someone carrying a bad disease. It would be to bad if Coldplay would get sued for a bad case of Herpes indeed.

So far they have given away 40,000 bands at their shows, but most of their money go into this shit??? Is he serious? How is that possible? How much a lighting wristband could cost??? Martin’s statement has to be greatly exaggerated, they have to make millions of dollars during this tour, could the wristbands cost that much? This sounds insane to me. A suggestion, he could sell them, I bet Coldplay fans would buy plenty.

And there was a time we were buying good old-fashioned glow-in-the-dark-one-dollar-sticks and you know what, it was cool too!
