Stereotypes run amok really. From Ozzie biting the head off a bat to Kesha blowing b boys, everyone in the biz has an angle.
Good or bad
Rockers will be drunk and screwing
Rappers will be busting caps in your ass and screwing
Indie Rockers will be growing sprouts and screwing
Pop Stars will be wearing virtue rings and screwing.
Simple.
I like stereotypes, it compartmentalizes the world and makes me have to put forth less effort than if I had to figure it out myself. I’m a busy girl
So lets narrow down the attitude to one little genre today.
Lets call this ‘Glamcore’ 101.
Glamcore is basically the ugly boys of the world who have found auto tune and synths.
They want to screw but they lack three things
looks
fame
talent
So, whats to be done when you’ve nowhere to go but your moms basement?
How do you stand apart? How do you get known?
Easy……..be an asshole and pretend you’re a girl.
Bands from Sigue Sigue Sputnick to Dead or Alive have been doing it for 30 years and actually put out some worthy music. So now.. its taken on a whole new crew, and so far. It all sucks.
The novelty of bands like BrokeNCyde and Jeffree Star are rather amusing. I cant wait to see them in a few weeks. I go for the same reason I would go to a B movie, the laughs. Dr Phil should come to cuz I’m thinking these boys may need some counseling.
I saw Star at Warped last year what a sad Queen. Do you think he realizes the world is laughing at him?
Seriously, to become a parody is worse than anything in my book and well that’s where this genre belongs.
It is great get drunk- get glittered music, no doubt. But as fleeting as that pink weave is as fleeting as your niche’.
So here is my message to you Glamcorians…Live fast.
You’re going to end up worse than Devine. At least she left a legacy. The Queens of NY have a right to throw their attitudes around hayseed from podunk trailerparks do not. You have nothing to show other than your amazing skill of putting on eyeliner and boasting of your sexual conquests.
