Well now this is a pretty interesting song. Shirley's voice is so distant. Still the haunting edge but its deep beneath the waka waka guitar intro.
Wait, what is this? Why is it so happy? Why does it have an almost reggae bass? Where did Garbage go?
At 2:45 there is a glimmer of Garbage but this song is awful. Its so overdone its like a steak and Sizzlers. The vocals are too soft the music too loud the twittering too annoying.
Perhaps they gave us this so that every other song would be stellar in comparison? Maybe this was a mistake? A favor to some ones kid? There has to be a legitimate reason of how such a fantastic band can serve up something so cliche' and weak.
Shirley wheres your angst? Wheres you sneer, wheres your soul? Certainly was on a coffee break for this one. But I love this band and a song that blows now and then will not change my opinion of them, it simply makes them more human.
If I gave it a D its cuz I'm optimistic that things will get better
