Fuzzy G At Heaven And Hell, Washington D.C., June 26th, 2010: Oozing Nepotism by Woody Fuller

How was your weekend? Mine fucking rocked!
Had a ridiculously awesome time, ( minus the USA loss, which mimicked the the Mariana Trench on my fun meter), and received a complete face melter with the combo of a Fuzzy G show Friday night followed by Trey Anastasio from Phish completely shredding the gnar the next. ( more abt Phish to come)
Possibly a little nepotism oozing out my fingers as I nonchalantly place both of their names in same sentence. However, Being as utterly unbiased as humanly possible, Fuzzy G really did an excellent job.

He completely killed his set and had everyone at Heaven and Hell (D.C. music venue) feel as if they were in heaven (magical place near clouds where nothing is short of a Utopia). Fuzzy, along with supporting cast Chad “Chooky” Derr on drums (a++ drummer and producer btw) and D.A.M. the DJ, has the natural ability to really own and take control of his show. Which is exactly what occurred.

With the eccentric sounds traveling out the guitar combined with an ill drummer, and good lyrics, it all hit the spot.
My three fav tracks of night.

1. “Lose my mind” feat Cash Flow, using a nasty sample, and igniting the crowd into an east-coast Hyphy Movement.
2. Optimistic mind- all around very solid track.

3. “Lady in the Water” feat Mac Boi- great Fuzzy G solo and equally thorough flow from Mac Boi.
Don’t forget to check Fuzzy G out July 3rd at the Bowery Poetry Club -early gig…
