Is it wrong for me to enjoy it when the overpowering arrogance that is Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen makes a gaff? Probably, I mean, I always here he is such a nice guy so who am I to judge him by his actions and not his words, right.
It has been over a month since the Rolling Stone Hall Of Fame Awards but I fel as if I am still stuck in that seat watching the pinheaded self-serving arrogant, self love, love in, horribleness that is the Boss, clapping himself and his band on the back for a fucking hour.
Look: sure, Bruce is confusing. His son joined the Fire Department: one way or the other, that sure doesn’t stink of arrogrance, or bad manners, or laziness, or poor upbringing. But on the other hand, there is Bruce himself, in 2014 his ego towers over even Bonos. His ego deserves its own zipcode,. His superego died and has never been resurrected. He is all Bruce to all people.
So this story, which I took off gigwise, pleases me no end: “The slightly hilarious hiccup happened on Saturday (17 May) when the boss was playing in Connecticut – but where he proceeded to repeatedly praise Massachusets. Eventually the rather baffled audience chose to correct Springsteen by shouting back “no” according to the New York Daily News:”Bruce Springsteen delivered 3½ hours of flawless rock and roll Saturday, despite a slight geographical mixup. During his first show of the weekend, the Boss yelled “Massachusetts!” several times to a confused crowd at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. The Bay State shoutouts came during one of Springsteen’s encores, prompting dozens of fans to shout back “No!” His apparent disorientation ended a short time later, when he encouraged fans to give it up for Connecticut Food Bank volunteers who were making the rounds collecting donations.”
Age creeping up there, eh Bruce? A Senior moment???
