Year three (more or less) of the regroomed Forest Hills and this is a pretty impressive lineup of could very well sell out shows. All of them. It is five stops on the “R” train from my home, and, indeed, is more or less ground zero for a Queens boy like me in Ramones (and Simon And Garfunkel) home field advantage. And it is a great looking place with at the very least a dramatic gladiators like surroundings, French fries in dog bowls and, lest we forget, the beloved noise curfew which means unless Marcel Marceau is giving a one man performance, everybody out of the pool by 10pm.
I am going to three of the shows, plus I am seeing the Who gig at Barclays, and have already seen D’Angelo twice this year. Missing is Santana, because I’m not a fan, and Van The Man because I am going to see Bennett and Gaga that night
Of those I am seeing, Ed is always a blast live and should have no problems rocking the joint. I do wonder if he has an actual band yet? James Taylor I had tickets at MSG last winter but found myself in Florida instead, and Alabama Shakes have a terrific new album, so, yeah, let it rock.
One more thing: if you are gonna charge $81 for the cheapest ticket, at least put a back on the damn chair.
