The first time I heard about them was last August when they had the good initiative to fix Elliott Smith’s memorial wall on Sunset. And on December 29th and 30th, music-art-activist collective FMLY is organizing a big fest to celebrate the end of the year with the best new and upcoming LA bands. There are so many bands in the lineup! Ok, there are tons I have never heard about (as the whole idea is about discovering new bands), but Pangea and Fidlar are on the 29th, at 12 pm and it’s gonna be cool I would guarantee it.
It is the third installment of this event, described by FMLY as ‘Los Angeles’ biggest, wildest, friendliest D.I.T. (Do It Together) music and arts festival’. For the occasion FMLY is offering a mixtape of tracks from the bands playing,.. and it’s free via bandcamp:
FMLY fest is Thursday, December 29th at Catnap (1726 N. Spring St, LA : show starts at 2pm) and Friday, December 30th at Chuco's (1137 Redondo Blvd., Inglewood : show starts at 2pm)
